This Week In The House
February 26, 2007
The Oregon House of Representatives is moving very rapidly on important legislation this session. We will begin daily floor sessions next week, and we have already done some very good things for Oregonians.
I thought I'd take this opportunity to fill you in on what is happening in the House this week.
You can find a great deal of information about these bills online, and be sure to check out gavel-to-gavel coverage of floor sessions and committee hearings on the Oregon Channel.

Multnomah County Democratic Party reports record campaign success in November's midterm elections
by Erika Boggs
ÂÂ
Our voter outreach program for the November election campaign was a major success. With a departure from traditional voter outreach strategy, an increase in full-time staff, and the help of hundreds of volunteers, Multnomah Democratss far surpassed the voter outreach goals set for them by the statewide campaign. Governor Kulongoski's victory in what pre-election polls predicted would be a close race, along with better-than-expected voter turnout, indicate small changes in the Multnomah Dems' tactics are working for the increasingly professional democratic organization.

Multnomah Democrats release limited number of premium tickets to sold out Jim Hightower show
Portland - Multnomah County Democratic Party officials announced the release of a small number of backstage passes for Friday's political fundraiser with speaker commentator Jim Hightower. Regular tickets for this year's Caffè Democratica dinner sold out "in record time," according to dinner chairman Shane Jackson. "These premium passes are the only admission available for those who still want to attend but don't have tickets. We sold the first 400 tickets in less than a week using the web site and only 20 volunteers." Jackson says the backstage passes are for sale only on the Multnomah County Democratic Party website.
