More toops in Iraq?

Last night, George Bush plans announce that he wants to send tens of thousands more troops to Iraq.

The American people oppose it. The generals, both active-duty and retired, say that it won't help. But George Bush thinks he can do it anyway.

We need you- only 36 hours left

Now, more than ever, we need you. Voter turnout in Multnomah County began strong, but on Friday it took a downturn. For the first time in days, the number of ballots returned dropped below the level from 2002. As of today we're running 6% -- 10,000 votes -- behind 2002. Oregon needs you now.

We need you now.

How can you help?

• Come into our office, 232 NE 9th, to contact voters by phone. Come in as soon as possible -- we need you.

Phone banks run until 9 pm. tonight and from 9 a.m. to almost 8 p.m. tomorrow.

• Come in to canvass and speak with voters at the door.

1. Speak with a voter and change the future of Oregon 2. Send-Off Rally for Paul Evans 3. Ted's birthday bash Ron Saxton's only idea in this campaign is to privatize essential state services. While we've all read about private companies like Halliburton and Enron providing our soldiers in the Middle East with tainted water and laundry service at $100/bag or creating an energy crisis to increase profits, right-wing Ron is pushing to bring that same service to Oregon. He has said any service that can be found in the yellow pages -- including delivering and paying for health care -- should be handled by private companies. If he had his way, he'd privatize every public service with companies like Halliburton and Enron.
