Governor expects report on status of bridge inspection by end of next week

Salem - Yesterday Governor Kulongoski directed the Oregon Department of Transportation to expedite inspections of all of Oregon's steel deck truss bridges, which is the kind of bridge that collapsed in Minneapolis on Wednesday, August 1.

Dear Oregon Democrats,

July 4th has become a day from which we take a break from the normal routines.
May I suggest that we also take the time to re-center and re-evaluate ourselves and our dedication to the higher principle of exercising and preserving these individual freedoms and liberties and unalienable rights which are the cornerstones of our communities.

Sicko movie night- Friday, July 13th

We all know the bare facts...the U.S. Census Bureau reports that more than 44 million Americans were without health insurance in 2005. And the number of uninsured continues to rise. According to the Institute of Medicine "...Although America leads the world in spending on health care, it's the only wealthy, industrialized nation that does not ensure that all citizens have coverage."
