OBAMA FOR AMERICA PRESENTS "KEATING ECONOMICS"

The Keating Five scandal is John McCain's biggest (public) shame as a member of the Senate, but that was 20 years ago and few today recall he got off with the lightest possible penalty for his involvement in that scandal. As Joshua Micah Marshall writes at TPM, "...why haven't the Democrats been bringing up McCain's history as a member of the Keating Five?"

The Obama campaign has finally decided to use the scandal — at the same time the McCain campaign will be trying to make an issue out of Tony Rezko and William Ayers. They have a new website up, "Keating Economics: John McCain and the Making of a Financial Crisis", and they make the case that the attitudes about regulation and banks that almost cost McCain his political career twenty years ago are the same attitudes that fed the current crisis.

The video will be released at 9am, Monday, October 6th. This will remind those who should remember and instruct those who are too young (or who weren't paying attention at the time) of yet another reason John McCain has no business being President.
